How to Troubleshoot Your Central Air Conditioning Problems

We may be nearing the end of summer, but it sure doesn’t feel like it this weekend! If you’re having trouble with your A/C, these troubleshooting tips will help you and your family stay cool.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Check the Electrical Panel- Tripped breakers and blown fuses can keep your A/C from working. If it looks like you have an electrical problem, try resetting your breaker by turning it off and on, or replace the fuse.
  • Replace Your Batteries – Most thermostats require batteries. Check your thermostat to see if it needs new batteries to get up and running once again.
  • Clean the Area Around the Condenser – Dirt, plant life and debris can keep your air conditioning system from working efficiently. Make sure that there are no leaves around the outdoor condenser and trim any bushes that might block airflow.
