Dehumidifiers

When it comes to feeling comfortable, nothing affects your body’s perception of comfort more than the humidity level. Besides lowering your utility bills, humidity control is very important to your health. Since air conditioners work as dehumidifiers, it may be time to replace your unit if you’re experiencing mold or feel uncomfortable in the heat. Additional testing may show that you an additional dehumidifier is needed in your home.

There’s fairly narrow range between too much and too little of it!

Keeping your home’s humidity levels in check can significantly improve the healthfulness and comfort of your home. Industry experts state that keeping your home’s humidity between 30-60% can help reduce the effects of many unwanted conditions. Excess humidity or too little humidity can not only lead to an unhealthy home but also cause permanent damage to your home and belongings.

Too Little Humidity

  • You experience chronic physical symptoms such as sore throats, dry/itchy skin, nose bleeds or sinus irritation.
  • Your home’s wood floors are shrinking and cracking. Joints in wood furniture are becoming loose or failing.
  • Wallpaper is peeling, while your paint or plaster is starting to crack.
  • Annoying and sometimes painful static shocks are common occurrences.
  • Your thermostat is cranked up, as is your energy bill, but you still feel cold.
  • Your piano and other musical instruments are falling out of tune.

Too Much Humidity

  • Your skin often feels clammy, sweaty or sticky.
  • Musty-smelling odors are invading your living space.
  • Wood floors, trim or wood furniture is warping or rotting, paint is peeling.
  • Condensation, frost or ice have formed on the inside surface of your windows. Water pipes are “sweating”.
  • Damp spots, or worse, mold and mildew, have formed on ceilings or walls.
  • Your allergies or asthma have gotten worse due to the growth of mold, mildew and dust mites.
  • Your house is a breeding ground for termites, cockroaches and other pests.

Air Cleaners

Allergy and Asthma sufferers and those sensitive to dust, mold, and other allergens can greatly benefit from the use of an air cleaner and/or ultra violet light.

Trane CleanEffects:

Trane’s breakthrough Trane CleanEffects™ air filtration system can remove up to 99.98% percent of airborne allergens from your home’s filtered air. Also, for many families, a whole home humidifier not only provides the right amount of moisture for total comfort, it can help to keep irritating airborne particles from circulating as easily.

  • The standard air cleaners on the market have filters that are very dense. Meaning they try to stop the dust by trapping it in a slightly porous filter. The fewer the pores the more dust it can trap. However, this not only stops the dust and dirt, but it also stops the air from moving as well. In other words, the amount of air that goes through your system is reduced so you may not be as comfortable. Less air is cleaned efficiently. This is called pressure drop. The revolutionary Trane CleanEffects air filtration system has the lowest pressure drop with the highest efficiency possible. Our unique patented technology is designed to let air flow freely through the most advanced filtration system available. The result, more of your air is cleaned faster and more effectively than anything else on the market.

CAP500 Series In-Duct UV Lamp Models – Germicidal Air Purification

Whole House Air Purification using Germicidal UV Technology

Germicidal UV (UV-C) has been used to control bacteria and other bioaerosols, and for odor control in hospitals, food processing and the pharmaceutical industry for more than 50 years. Now, the CAP500 Series Germicidal UV Air Purifiers bring high-performance UV technology to homeowners, and more profit for your business.

The powerful CAP500 models are specially designed to help control the formation of molds, bacteria and other health-threatening microbes that can live and multiply inside the crevices of a forced-air HVAC system. In addition, cooking, pet and tobacco odors are eliminated by the UV disinfection power of the CAP500 germicidal lamp.

High-Tech Features with Built-in Profit Potential!

The state-of-the-art features that make the CAP500 series a profitable add-on sale and a “must-stock” item on every service vehicle include:

  • Sealed electrical components prevent contamination and eliminate tampering
  • Safety interlock switch disconnects lamp when access cover is opened
  • One year (9,000 hours) rated lamp life
  • Outstanding warranty

Easy Monitoring Enhances Lamp Performance

The CAP500 series includes a visual indicator that monitors the lamp’s status and performance:

  • Green Light: Lamp is operating within an acceptable range
  • Red Light: Lamp is inoperable and should be replaced immediately

Safety First

While some UV products are merely UL Registered, the CAP500 models are safety certified by Environmental Testing Laboratories (ETL). This provides peace-of-mind with assurance that the unit meets or exceeds stringent UL safety standards.

CAP500-UV for Effective Control against Microbes

The CAP500-UV model is equipped with a powerful germicidal UV-C lamp that produces no ozone. The CAP500-UV unit provides best results in above-coil installations. This location allows the lamp to continuously irradiate bacteria, viruses and other microbes on the exposed surfaces of the coil fins to high levels of germicidal UV.

CAP500-UVP for Ultra-High Performance in Wet, Damp Areas

The CAP500-UVP model is equipped with a UV Plus lamp that combines a high-performance germicidal UV-C lamp with photolysis for the strongest defense against the formation of molds and mold-related odors. The CAP500-UVP must be installed on the return side to allow for the oxidized gas reaction to penetrate into the downstream HVAC components most susceptible to mold growth and microbial odor generation. The CAP500-UVP is especially effective against organisms that may be growing in the nooks and crannies of the heat exchanger and in other locations difficult to expose to UV light.

Safety Devices

Attic Safety Kit

If your air conditioner is located in the attic a clogged drain can pose a serious problem! This kit is designed to protect your ceiling from leaks, saving you hundreds or even thousands of dollars in repairs! This customized kit will safely drain away excess water, and will shut your unit down in the event of extraordinary water or pump failure.

Pro 2 and Pro 3 Duct Smoke Detector

This unit is designed to prevent recirculation and spread of dangerous smoke by shutting down the air handler blower when smoke is detected. An audible and/or visual alarm will warn occupants of danger.

Whole House Residential Surge arrestors

The typical home sees a 100V surge hourly and a 1000V surge monthly. Protect your appliances, home office, and entertainment centers from these invisible threats by diverting or limiting the surge current with a whole house surge arrestor.
